For HMO Plans ONLY:
You MUST get a referral from your Primary Care Provider PRIOR to your scheduled appointment.
FOR MEDICARE PATIENTS:
Medicare has very limited coverage for Chiropractic care.
The ONLY covered service is the spinal manipulation (adjustment). Medicare does not cover any other services outside of the spinal manipulation. Meaning, they will not cover the new patient exams, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercises performed during the appointment.
These non-covered services will be patient responsibility.
MEDICARE SUPPLEMENTAL PLANS:
Medicare Supplemental Plans such as AARP UHC, UHC Medicare Advantage, Anthem BCBS Supplemental, Aetna Medicare plans, etc. all follow Medicare guidelines. This means that these supplemental plans will also deny the same services that Medicare denies. They only give coverage for COVERED services by Medicare. They will not give additional coverage for non-covered services.
***The only plans that give additional coverage to non-covered services are REGULAR COMMERCIAL plans that act as SECONDARY plans such as BCBS FEP, which are DIFFERENT to Medicare Supplemental plans.***
